Autotrol / Osmonics has discontinued the 440i timer and is offering either a new 460tc version of the 460 timer or the retrofit kit. This has caused many owners of these systems to ask themselves what should I do. We believe you should either:

* purchase the retrofit kit to make your water softener a modern version of your current system'

* exchange the old autotrol / osmonics control valve for a new fleck or autotrol / osmonics control valve

* change out the entire water softener for a new osmonics / water softener
